As both teacher and student, Master Paul Korchak has devoted his life to the study
of martial arts. A successful career spanning over 28 years
combines Master Korchak’s extensive knowledge, expertise, and proficiency in several
martial arts, with an enduring commitment of excellence to his students.
Master Korchak began studying Chung Do Kwon Taekwondo in 1980 under
Grandmaster Hong Kong Kim, 9th
Dan, former Olympic coach, and vice-president of the United States Taekwondo
Union. Master Korchak’s emergent interest and fascination with the martial arts were
only surpassed by his intense focus and desire to succeed. His hard work
and dedication earned him 10 State Taekwondo Championships, a
Collegiate Taekwondo Championship, a silver medal in the World Taekwondo
Festival in Korea, a bronze medal in the International Taekwondo Festival in
Mexico, and was a member at the first Olympic Training Center Camp
for Junior Elite Taekwondo Athletes. Furthermore, he trained extensively in
several, unique styles of martial arts, such as Gracie Jujitsu, Aikido,
Karate, Tai-Chi, Thai Kickboxing, Krav Maga, Shotokan Karate, Korean
Kung-Fu, Kumdo, and Hapkido, among others. As Master Korchak’s physical talents in the
martial arts matured, he recognized that his personal achievements were
humbly guiding him to make a more substantial contribution to the martial
arts. He redirected his unwavering focus and dynamic energy to those
around him, resolving to impart his knowledge of the martial arts to
individuals of all ages who were willing to learn and grow.
Under the present guidance of
Grandmaster Joon Pyo Choi,
9th Dan and the president of the Oriental Martial Arts Center, Master
Korchak teaches with the philosophy that the purpose of martial arts is to
make individuals stronger, wiser, and more capable human beings, so that
they may become "Guardians of Peace". Master Korchak
recognizes the exceptional talents that each individual possesses, and has
structured the core curriculum at the Cincinnati Taekwondo Center to
accommodate each student’s distinctive abilities, creating a more confident,
well-rounded martial artist. Master Paul Korchak’s absolute, enduring commitment of
excellence to his students is a direct reflection of his own intensity,
unwavering focus, hard work, dynamic energy and dedication to a way of life
that unites the mind, body, and soul, which ultimately unites us all. |
